Lahontan Community Foundation Fund Awards More Than a Quarter Million in Grants

Supporting Local Nonprofits

The Lahontan Community Foundation Fund (LCF) has announced its 2025 grantees, awarding over $264,000 to 21 nonprofits serving the Truckee/North Lake Tahoe region. This marks the largest contribution since the organization was founded more than 20 years ago.

Since 2015, Tahoe Community Foundation has acted as the fiscal sponsor of LCF, extending its nonprofit tax-exempt status and providing administrative operations and fiduciary support, allowing LCF to focus on their mission of passionately raising funds to support the incredible work of local nonprofits that make a meaningful impact in the North Lake Tahoe and Truckee regions.

This year, LCF reached $3 million in cumulative grants made to the community. “That is quite an accomplishment stemming from a small group of philanthropic members,” says LCF President Janet Lowell. “We applaud the work of the nonprofits we supported and are proud to help sustain and grow their services in our community.”
